DESCRIPTION:Coaled Ground was a beer that was originally produced through our internal pilot brew system for test batches of experimental beer. Many moons have passed since originally brewing Coaled Ground but we thought it would be a great time to bring it back. Coaled Ground has a complex\, rich malt profile that’s accentuated by a hint of smoked malt. The beer has a velvety smooth body with decadent chocolate and open fire roasty qualities. Everything is topped off with an addition of Manzanita Coffee Roasting Company’s El Gaucho coffee beans. El Gaucho is a blend of beans from Guatemala\, Ethiopia and Colombia. The coffee adds some fruity notes with a chocolate like finish. The result is an extremely complex\, rich and decadent beer that we’re excited to share with you. This haunting release charms the senses with captivating notes of chocolate\, plum\, bourbon\, and cherry backed by a resonant coffee and spice cake quality with fruity Belgian esters. The base is comprised of Double Stout wort which is fermented with Trappist yeast and set to rest in five different barrels\, including four bourbon barrels (Law’s 4 Grain\, Law’s Rye\, Woodford Reserve\, Elijah Craig 12-year) and one new French Oak barrel (Cadus) for upwards of 28 months.
